Matter under consultation
The 2025 Electricity Network Options Report is part of AEMO’s two-yearly consultation on network inputs for the Integrated System Plan (ISP). The report identifies potential augmentation options in electricity networks within the National Electricity Market (NEM) which are an important input to the development of the 2026 ISP.
The report has been expanded to include both transmission and distribution opportunities, including proposed distribution network opportunities for investment to facilitate the operation of forecasted uptake of consumer energy resources and other distributed resources, and further consideration of social licence for transmission.
Consultation on the Draft 2025 Electricity Network Options Report closed on 23 June 2025. Submissions have been published, in accordance with AEMO’s Consultation submission guidelines.
A Draft 2025 Electricity Network Options Report webinar, including a Q&A session was held on 6 June 2025 to help stakeholders gain insights on the report. A verbal submission session was held for consumer advocates on 19 June 2025.
