Matter under consultation
Where the Integrated System Plan (ISP) identifies an actionable ISP project, the National Electricity Rules (NER) require AEMO to conduct consultation on non-network options to meet the identified need. With the publication of the Draft 2026 ISP, AEMO is calling for non-network options for the Switching Station Near Wondalga project.
The Notice of Consultation linked below includes:
- the identified need that the Switching Station Near Wondalga project (including any non-network option) is addressing;
- detail on the required technical characteristics that non-network options must meet for the Switching Station Near Wondalga project; and
- a list of the types of information required from proponents of any non-network options.
Proposals should be sent in PDF format to [email protected] by 6:00 pm (AEDT) on Friday 20 March 2026. Please identify any parts of your submission that you wish to remain confidential, and explain why. AEMO may still publish that information if it does not consider it to be confidential, but will consult with you before doing so. Copies of all submissions received by AEMO will be provided to Transgrid as the RIT-T proponent.
Submissions received after the closing date and time will not be valid, and AEMO is not obliged to consider them. Any late submissions should explain the reason for lateness and the detriment to you if AEMO does not consider your submission.
After the consultation period, Transgrid as the relevant Transmission Network Service Provider (TNSP) must assess whether each non-network proposal meets, or is reasonably likely to meet, the relevant identified need.
