AEMO has concluded a consultation on B2B Procedures on behalf of the Information Exchange Committee (IEC).

The publication of this final report concludes the Information Exchange Committee’s (IEC) Minor Rules consultation process under clause 8.9.4 of the National Electricity Rules.

This consultation sought to consolidate previously consulted on issues, with additional minor clarifications to address queries raised by industry.

The IEC proposed to amend relevant versions of the B2B Procedures to:

  1. Consolidate previously consulted on changes associated to the following items which were concurrently consulted on in 2025
    1. The implementation of the Accelerating Smart Meter Deployment (ASMD) Rule of the Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC), specifically, Basic Power Quality Data.
    2. The removal of technical content from the applicable procedures.
    3. The implementation of the AEMC’s Final Rule for 'Unlocking CER benefits through flexible trading' (FTA).
  2. Remove ambiguity in Table 13 of the Service Order Process Procedure to ensure the correct treatment of the RegClassification
    1. Mandatory for MSW SORs (Meter Install, Meter Exchange and Install Meter Isolation Device) and not required for SSWs sent to DNSPs, in line with the original consultation intent
  3. Remove an incorrect inclusion of a new ReasonForInter value of ‘Appointment’ in the B2B Guide
    1. Inadvertently included in the ‘Establish a Secondary Settlement Point at a Large (8a) or Small (8b) customer’ diagram
  4. Correct an error in referencing in Table 3 of the Service Order Process Procedure
  5. Clarify the Service Order Process Procedure requirements applicable to the installation of a customer-supplied Type 9 meter
