ElectraNet has published a Project Assessment Draft Report (PADR) for the Northern Transmission Project (NTx) under the Regulatory Investment Test for Transmission (RIT-T), as required by the National Electricity Rules clause 5.16.
This project is required to supply growing demand in South Australia. NTx will alleviate congestion between the Mid North region and Adelaide, boosting access to renewable resources in the Upper Spencer Gulf and supporting renewable integration thereby meeting AEMO’s identified need.
The PADR, which is the second stage of the RIT-T process, has identified nine credible options to meet the identified need and analysed them, resulting on a proposed preferred one.
