Nemweb updates
Legacy report framework (post-production)
We introduce a three-phase framework to manage outdated and superseded reports on NEMWeb. This process is effective after the go live date Tuesday 9 December 2025 (TBC). Current report URLs and processes remain unchanged on Tuesday 9 December 2025 (TBC).
This section gives you advance notice about upcoming changes, so you can prepare if needed. For more details on the release dates, see Release Information.
Three-phase legacy process:
- Deprecation notice: In a future release of the technical specification, we publish the reports we are phasing out and provide details of their replacement content. You should follow the advice and make any necessary changes before the deprecation date to keep your NEMWeb data feeds working. We allow reasonable time between this notice and the next step, so you have time to act.
- Deprecation date: At the deprecation date, we move the report from its current location to a legacy subfolder. If you haven’t made the recommended changes in step 1, your data feeds may stop working. You can update your processes to point to the legacy location and continue using the report during this six-month sunset period. You must complete all changes, in the deprecation advice before the sunset period ends.
- Retirement: Legacy reports are discontinued and removed from NEMWeb after the sunset period.
Key points for stakeholders:
- After the go-live date, we publish information of reports being phased out and provide details of their replacements. This is published in a future release of the technical specification.
- Reports remain in their current location until the deprecation date. You have time to make any necessary changes before we move them to a legacy folder location.
- On the deprecation date, we relocate these reports to a legacy subfolder under https://nemweb.com.au/Reports/. Note, this is a URL change only. We provide a mapping of old to new URL in a future release of the technical specification. You can update your processes to point to the legacy folder and continue using the report during the sunset period.
- The legacy folder remains available for a six-month sunset period. After this period, we remove legacy reports from NEMWeb. For more details, see Release Information.
All changes are communicated through EMMS – Technical Specification - 2025. If you need assistance, contact the Support Hub.
Please submit any feedback about the legacy report framework by 13 January 2026.
