Current FCESS and RoCoF Ride-Through Accreditation Parameters

In accordance with Clause 2.34A.14 of the ESM Rules, AEMO must publish all Facilities that are accredited to provide FCESS and any relevant RoCoF Ride-Through Parameters.

Where Market Participants or Network Operators are required to contact AEMO under paragraphs 7.1.1, 7.1.3, 9.2.2, 9.3.1(c), 10.1.1 or 10.1.2, of the FCESS Accreditation WEM Procedure, they should provide relevant information to AEMO by email to [email protected] and include all information required under that paragraph and stating the relevant clause for which that information is provided.

Participants that are unable to meet the voice communication requirements specified in paragraphs 2.5.2, 2.6.2 or 2.7.1 of the Communications and Control Systems WEM Procedure must notify AEMO via the [email protected] mailbox, specifying the clause that is unable to be complied with and the specific reasons. AEMO will review these and confirm acceptance or otherwise with the Participant.

Information:

On 26 February 2026, in accordance with Schedule 1A of the Electricity System and Market Amendment (Tranche 9) Rules 2025, the RoCoF Safe Limit will be amended from 0.25 Hz over any 500 millisecond period to 0.75 Hz/s measured over any 500 millisecond period. It is worth noting that in addition to the RoCoF Safe Limit change, the corresponding unit has also been adjusted to be Hz/s measured over any 500 millisecond period. Attached to this page, AEMO has published a list of applicable Facilities in the WEM and their updated RoCoF Ride-Through Capability values that AEMO considers should apply from 26 February 2026 along with the current values.
