Overview

In accordance with rule 5.20A of the National Electricity Rules (NER), AEMO is required to undertake a General Power System Risk Review (GPSRR) and prepare a GPSRR report for the National Electricity Market (NEM) at least annually. From 2023, the GPSRR replaces and expands on the scope of the previous biennial Power System Frequency Risk Review (PSFRR).

AEMO has now completed the 2025 GSPRR draft report consultation. The final 2025 GPSRR report was published on 31 July 2025.

AEMO held an industry question and answer session on the draft 2025 GPSRR report on 20 June 2025 for all Registered Participants and interested parties. A summary of the feedback received is summarised in the 2025 GPSRR Consultation Report.
