Dispute resolution

The dispute resolution process in the ESM Rules sets out two stages to be followed:

  • First stage – the rule participants attempt to resolve disputes between themselves.
  • Second stage – if the dispute is not resolved in 60 days, the parties must consider using mediation or other methods to resolve the dispute. If the dispute resolution process is unsuccessful, the parties may take court proceedings.

A Notices of Dispute may be raised to AEMO by emailing [email protected]. The Notice of Dispute must be in writing and contain the information set out in ESM Rule 2.19.3.
