Incident reports
In accordance with clause 3.8.1 of the Electricity System and Market (ESM) Rules, AEMO must investigate any incidents in the operation of equipment comprising the SWIS that:
- endangers Power System Security or Power System Reliability to a significant extent; or
- causes significant disruption to the operation of the Central Dispatch Process set out in section 7.6 of the ESM Rules; and
- AEMO considers has had, or had the potential to have had, a significant impact on the effectiveness of the market.
Following the investigation, in accordance with clause 3.8.3 of the Electricity System and Market (ESM) Rules, AEMO must publish a report detailing its findings.
The report must include:
- any reports provided by independent experts, once any information that cannot be made public under the ESM Rules or which AEMO considers should not be released, has been removed.
- a description of any changes to the ESM Rules or WEM Procedures that AEMO considers necessary to prevent the future occurrence of similar incidents.
